Our next Run #1548 (Finally): 

The First Hash of Vietnam’s AC (after covid) Era

Life as we know it is slowly coming back.  The day that we’ve all been waiting for has arrived.  Yep, a REAL Hash with a REAL run and a REAL walk and with REAL beer in the end.  Mark your calendar.  

The Day The World Returns to Normal:  Sunday, May 10

a.k.a.  The First Day of the AC World 

There will not be a bus.  Don’t worry though because Tootsie Robinson and Shithouse endured the oppressive heat and barking dogs while enjoying the very friendly people of nearby Thanh Da Island to reccie a route.  We also found a very nice restaurant so it will be a great A to A Hash.

The run will be about 8 km.  It will look familiar to some Hashers, but there are several new editions for the runners.  The walk will be around 5.2 km and it will be quite different than the most recent Thanh Da Hash.

Thanh Da Island (it used to be known as the “lungs” of Saigon because it was so green) is very near Binh Thanh District, the Saigon Bridge, and Saigon in general.  It’s a short taxi or scooter ride away from D1.  Come directly to the restaurant, Binh Quoi Que Toi, at this location

This place is on the same road as our last Hash at Thanh Da but just further down the road (towards the river) than before. 

The Hash fees are all inclusive.  It is 300,000 VND for expats and 200,000 VND for Vietnamese and it will include all fees, drinks, the circle, and best of all dinner in a very pleasant environment with even more pleasant company. 

Please arrive by 2:45 PM and the Hash will begin at 3:00 PM.

Finally the moment you have all been waiting for. The storm has passed and the Hash is back, although there is no telling what the new normal will look like. We have hares for this weekend who have been out scouring the city for the best possible trail and have decided that it is definitely the one they found on Thanh Da Island. The details are above so there is no excuse for missing this opportunity to escape the isolation, meet up with trusted friends, and get some exercise.

The Hash Hump is also back at it normal location, In Saigong Bar,  after a hump away last week at Le Bacoulos which was enjoyed by many.

There is a strong possibility that the run on the 17th will be a Hash Away form the 16 -17 May. However we will need to be quick if we want it to be successful so keep your eyes open for an additional email if you are interested in joining.

The Saigon Monday Hash House Harriers run every Monday - surprisingly enough! The start point is always posted on Facebook so please get into the habit of checking it out if you want to run with them (details here).
