Run 1562 The Return to Chu Chi Run

Our next Run: The Return to Chu Chi Run 

Day: Sunday

Date: 06/09/2020

We are returning to an old stomping ground after a long absence thanks to the efforts of Bukkake Kid and Fuji Bush. The trail is along paths and tracks by the Saigon river with paddy fields, some shade and the usual Hash hazards.  It is near the Chu Chi Tunnels but hopefully we won't lose anyone down a hole.

News from your GM

It was good to see everyone on Sunday and what a fantastic trail. It was a case of 4th time lucky for this on as Tickler tried to give it to us and this was Rock Bottom and Down Easy's third  attempt. At least they finally managing to satisfy every one. Thank you to our hares and to everyone who came to share the experience with us.

The Red Dress Run is fast approaching so dig those dresses out of your wardrobes and make sure they still fit. We have had a few suggestions for charities to support this year already but if you have a personal favourite please feel free to throw it into the mix via Facebook, Whatsapp or if you are brave enough you can even tell me in person! The Run will be on the 20th September So save the date. The Hares will be Paddy Fag so you know it will be good, I will be coming round and asking you to put your hands in your pockets over the next few weeks so dig deep, where ever it end up you know it will be a worthy cause.

The 30th Birthday weekend will now be 17th and 18 th October so please remember to save this new date. 

The schedule has yet to be finalised, in true mismanagement style, however the basic outline is as follows. On Saturday afternoon the bus will pick Hashers up from the Caravelle and D2 and take us to Dong Nai for an amazing trail set by Turn Off and Shithouse. On Saturday evening the celebration will continue at a yet to be determined location. On Sunday there will be a recovery run set by Fukcoffee and Sexy Eyes, with Hashers making their own way to the start point followed by an On On at a restaurant at the run site. For those needing more than 2 runs per weekend the Monday Hash is always very pleased to welcome Sunday Hashers and  the Harriettes have decided they 'can be bothered' to do a run on the Friday in District 2.

The Saigon Hash Hump

All current, past and future Hashers and their guests are welcome to the Hash Hump. There are two of these amazing events to attend every week:

• Every TUESDAY in District 1, at  In Saigong's rooftop bar, 29 Huynh Thuc Khang Street, from 18h (6 pm) until .... Beautiful sky, cold beer and discussions of the day with fellow hashers.
• Every WEDNESDAY in District 2, at Le Bacoulos, 13 Tong Huu Dinh. Start at 17h (5 pm) until....... Cold drinks and good food at decent prices.

The Hump is a Saigon Hash event, designed to break the long period between Hash runs. There are no rules, so you can call Hashers by their name or Hash handle, drink with your left hand or right hand, stand or sit in a circle, semi-circle, ellipse or square and no need to sit on ice if you arrive after the started start time. In short, the Hump will be easy and relaxed and everybody is welcome.

Last Week's Run Report

Run 1561    The Masked Run

Date: Sunday 30th August  2020

Location: Dong Nai 

What a delight it was to see the return of the trusty bus under the control of a Virgin driver called “Binh” sounds like Bun. All the existing crew were there too. We checked masks and sat appropriately distant on the bus and took registers which bore a vague resemblance to the people who turned up. The doggy car met us at the start.

Rock Bottom and Down Easy were the hares. 

For Rent loved the run- not so much for its beauty or the greenery or the friendliness of the people we saw- no- it was the beer stop. She awarded -6.9. The Walkers were less  happy. There was no beer stop, it was too short and pretty easy. They awarded a mighty +10 so that a final score of +3.1 was achieved and was not interfered with by any government but the judgement of those who were there was honoured. ( Angry teacher comment!)

Broken Seal welcomed tons of Virgins and told them the rules namely that GM is always right- but there was some debate as to what GM actually stands for- she ain’t no Mattress though! 

Tony came because of Janet- and Janet also made Tony’s sister come- keeping it in the family. Flusher made Andy come from Scotland as Flusher decided to return to the green and pleasant Land. No Cunt Troll visiting from Nha Trang coaxed Dima into coming and Down Easy made Phuc come. 

Returners were Janet who was unable to give any sort of excuse for her fifteen year absence. Monday Minor returned after a trip to France, ChiChi Madeira mentioned Bhutan and Spain- at least that’s what I heard. 

Charges: The Hares was charged with losing a Virgin runner Tony- who was rescued by Miss Saigon. Full Package was put on ice for mistaking the Hash for a Night Club and wearing a body hugging lace dress. ChiChi charged the hares with laying the paper trail on the left and on the right- but he was reminded that this is a Monday Hash rule and so he, too, was put on ice. Inspector Gobshite charged the hares with not providing a beer stop for the walkers; Shithouse kept the hares in the circle and told them that next week they would receive their 49+1 t-shirts. Shithouse then called in Runny Yolk who was using her phone to research new songs and all she came up with was “Drink it down, down, down. Down.”. Fukcoffee charged vegetarians- Happy Flasher and Sexy Eyes for not eating meat. Gobbler charged Shithouse for misuse of technology as he unwittingly sent an 8 minute voice message to the committee members. Sexy Eyes charged Fukcoffee and Mulberry with not being able to swim. 

Naming: we tried but failed to rename PediaPrick. However Thanh Tao - being very flexible and bendy will henceforth be known as Karma Sutra.

The Saigon Monday Hash House Harriers run every Monday - surprisingly enough! The start point is always posted on Facebook so please get into the habit of checking it out if you want to run with them (details here).
