In the middle of the 18th century, immigrants from central Vietnam brought the craft to Dong Nai, Gia Dinh region, including Tuong Binh Hiep Village. At the beginning, there were a few households specialising in producing lacquer art or gold inlaying but the craft gradually developed and lacquer artisans of Tuong Binh Hiep Village became well-known all around the southern area.
Preserved and transferred through many generations, the traditional lacquer craft in Tuong Binh Hiep has seen fast development recently. With their values, these products are the pride of not only the village but also a cultural heritage of the nation.
Proudly growning up in this land, In and Out and her family would like to have you visit her home area this Sunday and introduce to you their cultural and historical village. Like the way we preserve our heritage, In and Out are helping the young hashers keep up the hashing spirit by guiding them and accompanying them to setting this trail.
It is a nice flat trail from A to A. The trail will start at an acient temple, through the quiet roads with the friendly villagers.
And beer-stop, of course. Not one, but two beer-stops. Don't miss it!

In order to help the younger generation better understand traditional values, the Binh Duong Hash House Harriers (BDH3) in collaboration with Binh Duong Newspaper organize a day to visit this traditional craft village. Join us to learn about lacquer craft and participate in lacquer painting activities at one of the long-standing lacquer establishments in Tuong Binh Hiep on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
